Getting there (and back again)…

You've committed to a car that barely makes it up hills. But how do you get to the starting line—and more importantly, how do you get home if it doesn’t survive?

We’ve got options. You’ve got choices. Here’s how to make the journey work, even if your car doesn’t.

Step 1: Getting to the Start Line – Annecy, France

Option 1: Drive your car there

Make a road trip of it! Head from the UK to Annecy via ferry or Eurotunnel. Depending on your route, it’s about 9–11 hours from Calais. Perfect for shaking the rust off your ride (and testing your team’s playlist choices).

Option 2: Have your car transported

Want to skip the pre-rally mileage? We can arrange for your car to be delivered to Annecy from the UK (for a fee), while you fly in fresh-faced and drama-free.

Need a flight?

Geneva is the closest airport (around 45 minutes from Annecy). Plenty of airlines, plenty of flights.

Step 2: Driving the Rally Route

We’ll take you from Annecy to Salzburg, through France, Switzerland, Italy, Germany and Austria. Expect 600 miles of mountain passes, pit stops, and occasional smoke from the bonnet. Accommodation, breakfast and dinner are sorted—we’ve got you.

Mechanics follow the rally about an hour behind, just in case your £995 wonder needs a little TLC.

Step 3: Getting Home from Salzburg

Option 1: Drive it back

Feeling brave (or lucky)? You can drive your car back to the UK—about 10 hours to Calais. Make it an extended adventure, or head straight home with a tale to tell.

Option 2: Fly home

Salzburg has a well-connected airport, or you can hop on a train to Munich (90 minutes away) for more flight options.

Option 3: Scrap it or ship it

Did your car give up the ghost on a scenic Alpine pass? We can arrange to scrap it in Austria or have it transported back to the UK. (Fees apply—but dignity is priceless.)

What You’ll Need

  • Valid driving licence (for all countries en route)

  • Insurance with European cover

  • European breakdown cover

  • European travel insurance

  • Passport (obviously)

  • Sense of humour (essential)

We’ll remind you of all this before the rally, but best to start ticking things off early.

We’re on hand with answers, transport tips, and breakdown support (literal and emotional).
